This Week in brief:

Local
– Council President Soria and Councilman Olivier are bringing forward an item on economic incentives/developer impact fee waivers for businesses in certain areas of the community.

State
– The deadline for election certification is approaching, and we are anxiously awaiting the results in a number of close races throughout the state.

Federal
– Lame duck congress will be in session

This Week in brief:

Local-

  • Thank you to the Fresno City Council for unanimously approving the Fancher Creek Parkway resolution.
  • The city council voted to postpone making a decision on permitting electric scooters in the city of Fresno for an additional two weeks.

State-

  • Now that the Governor has concluded his signature/veto process we will be tabulating the results and releasing our legislative report cards by the end of the year.

Federal-

  • We are paying attention to immigration and trade, especially as the conversations intensify around those two issues prior to the November 6 election.

This Week in brief:

Local

  • The Chamber is in support of the Fancher Creek Parkway act that will be presented at this week’s council meeting.
  • The council will be taking action on regulations relating to shared mobility services (Lime/Bird scooters.)

State

  • Our GAC will be doing a legislative recap of the bills from this session at its meeting on Wednesday.

Federal

  • We are reviewing the new trade agreement between Mexico, Canada and the United States
