K-Jewel 99.3 was founded as a local radio station in 1994 and remains Fresno’s only locally owned FM station. From day one, K-Jewel has demonstrated a commitment to building a better community by providing a voice to hundreds of Valley nonprofits and raising hundreds of thousands of dollars for charitable organizations. KYNO is where legendary Program Director Bill Drake and owner Gene Chenault began their incredible partnership. The year was 1963 — and within a decade, the “Drake-sound” was the most copied format on American radio.
