One day after the June primary election as Rep. David Valadao (R–Hanford) is well on his way to the general election, the National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) is pushing Valadao’s background as a dairy farmer who fights for water and jobs.

The NRCC published a video Wednesday featuring Valadao in its signature “Inside the Majority” series, which highlights Republican members of Congress who are in some of the top battleground districts across the country.

Watch the video:

What they’re saying: “Congressman David Valadao embodies the Central Valley, from working alongside his family on the farm to fighting for water, jobs, and economic opportunity in Congress,” said NRCC spokesman Christian Martinez. “Rep. Valadao never forgot where he came from. While Democrats talk, Rep. Valadao delivers, and Valley families are seeing the results of his leadership every day.”

What we’re watching: Valadao leads the primary for the 22nd district at 44.5%, securing his ticket to the general election in November.

  • While there are still many votes to count, Valadao is currently in line to face Visalia Unified School District Trustee Randy Villegas in November. Villegas leads Asm. Jasmeet Bains (D–Delano) 29.8% to 25.7%.
