A popular home-based supper club in the Sunnyside area is moving and expanding.

The Fresno County Planning Commission voted to approve a Sunnyside area home to be used as a special event facility and a fine dining restaurant on Thursday for local chefs Daniel and Claire Skinner, known online as DanielxClaire .

Driving the news: The Skinners currently offer a four-course fine dining dinner out of their home in the Sunnyside area.

  • The menu is seasonal and changes either every month or bimonthly.
  • Their current menu is based on Italian cuisine, and features a main course of either chicken piccata or roasted red snapper for $85 per person.

The big picture: The planning commission approved the Skinners to use a different house in the historic Sunnyside area for their fine dining operation as well as special events, such as a few weddings throughout the year.

  • The new location is a historic house at 5641 E. Butler Ave. located on 2.5 acres of land.
  • The Skinners will operate limited service with reservations only from Wednesday through Saturdays during lunch and dinner hours. They expect to host up to 45 customers in the evenings.
  • Along with the fine dining operation, the Planning Commission also approved the Skinner’s application to host up to 10 small events, which would include up to seven small personal celebrations – such as bridal showers, baby showers, birthdays and small receptions for a maximum of 50 guests – and three weddings with a maximum of 85 guests.
  • The Skinners will live on the second floor of the house and operate their fine dining experience on the bottom floor, which features a 1,644 square-foot dining area.

Zoom in: Property records show that Jeffrey and Melissa Kollenkark purchased the house for $1.06 million in January 2025.

  • The 1920s house has historically been used for events, such as Medievalfest, garden parties and a fundraiser for late U.S. Sen. Alan Cranston.
