California Sen. Anna Caballero, D-Merced, presented a $100,000 ceremonial check to the Fresno Veterans Memorial Museum on Friday, August 8, to celebrate state funding that will modernize exhibits.
The investment will preserve stories of military service from the Civil War through today with state-of-the-art electronic displays. The upgrades are designed to enhance visitors’ experiences and engage younger audiences through interactive storytelling.
Caballero’s office, museum leaders, and local veterans worked together for years to secure the funding.
Attendees at the check presentation included veteran volunteers, community supporters, museum CEO Mike Harris, Fresno City Councilmember Nick Richardson, Fresno County Supervisor Garry Bredefeld, and Caballero.
The museum is open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Admission is free.
