Fresno State’s popular sweet corn will soon be available to the public once again.

The university announced that its sweet corn will return to the Gibson Farm Market at 8 a.m. on Monday.

What we’re watching: Fresno State will sell its yellow corn for 37 cents per ear, with a white corn variety to follow soon.

  • The Gibson Farm Market will also have a white and yellow bicolor variety available in August.
  • The market is open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mondays through Fridays, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturdays and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sundays.

Driving the news: Fresno State planted the first sweet corn of the year on Jan. 12, with more blocks planted since to supply the market through the end of August.

  • Fresno State’s sweet corn dates back to a test project on campus in 1981, with the first corn sold at small stands at Chestnut and Barstow avenues in 1982.
