Friends, family, clients, and business professionals turned out Tuesday, Oct. 21, to celebrate Kotman Technology’s next chapter: a ribbon cutting for its new Clovis headquarters.

After years of sharing spaces with other businesses, Kotman Technology has a place to call its own – literally. It owns the custom-made building in the Clovis Research and Technology Business Park off Highway 168 and Temperance Avenue.

“We got the opportunity to design everything just for us,” founder and President Jon Kotman said.

The company designed the space with a large breakroom for employees to relax, welcoming conference rooms for collaboration, and plenty of windows to let in natural light.

The new building reflects how far the company has progressed since Kotman founded it in 2005, when he was the lone worker. Over time, it evolved into a small startup, then into a team of 30 professionals helping businesses throughout the Central Valley and beyond keep their technology running smoothly. The company provides day-to-day support, long-term strategy, and security services for clients across diverse industries including agriculture, health care, education, accounting, engineering, and manufacturing.

Early on, it shared space with a law firm in North Fresno, then it moved to the Bitwise South Stadium building.

Vice President Luke Ross said that although the company loved being downtown, it outgrew its space despite expanding a couple of times – even knocking down a wall between two suites. “We grew within downtown and kind of maxed out our footprint as far as what the other suites would allow for,” he said.

Eventually the business needed a place of its own, Kotman said. “We were kind of in a spot where we wanted to have our own space that would be just for our team – an opportunity that we would have additional space so that as we did grow, we would have room to grow in that space,” he said.

In addition to giving employees a bigger, brighter workplace, the new building has been a great place to host clients, Ross said. “It’s created a new opportunity to sit down and engage and in a lot of ways be able to have strategy conversations that probably we couldn’t have before due to space.”

After 20 years of steady expansion in the Valley, Kotman Technology plans to keep building on that progress.

“We love the Valley. It’s a gold mine quite honestly in people and business,” Ross said. “There’s a lot of opportunity within ag and food and ancillary services.”

Looking ahead, the company’s leadership has set ambitious goals for the next decade.

“Our 10-year vision is to be the premiere technology partner serving over 10,000 people by the year 2032,” Ross said. “That is our goal, and I’m proud to say we’re on track to do it.”

The company’s mission remains rooted in supporting others’ success.

“Our clients do cool things, and we get to help them do that,” Kotman said.
