Fresno, CA – The Fresno Chamber of Commerce will be hosting the 2020 Valley Business Awards Luncheon today, February 12, to honor community leaders and local entrepreneurs making their mark. This event serves as a platform to celebrate the best of Fresno through the presentation of several of the Chamber’s most prestigious awards.
The Luncheon’s main event will be the presentation of the esteemed Leon S. Peters Award, which is given based on one’s outstanding leadership through devotion of his or her time and talents to better the greater Fresno community. This year’s recipient is Karen Musson.
“Karen Musson truly exemplifies what the Leon S. Peters Award is all about,” said Chamber President/CEO Nathan Ahle. “GAR Bennett has been a leader in our ag community for decades, and Karen has been at the forefront of that leadership. She and her family also give tirelessly of their time, talent and treasure to ensure Fresno is a better place to live, particularly for the youth of our community. She is greatly deserving of this honor.”
Another highlight of the event will be the recognition of several Fresno-based companies for their established and growing entrepreneurial endeavors. The honorees include:
• Harold Zinkin Entrepreneur of the Year – Lyles Diversified, Inc.
• Rising Star of the Year – Ampersand Ice Cream
• Community Champion of the Year – Tioga-Sequoia Brewing Co.
• Student Entrepreneur of the Year – Calvin Kammer, Next-Gen Escape
This year’s Presenting Sponsors are Central Valley Community Bank and Fresno State; Gold Sponsors are State Center Community College District; Fresno Yosemite International Airport, Fresno County Convention & Visitors Bureau and Wawona Frozen Foods; Silver Sponsors are: CIS Security and Central California Food Bank.
