Local Issues
- At this Thursday’s Fresno City Council meeting, Councilman Luis Chavez will be presenting his Ventura/Kings Canyon Opportunity Zone resolution to the council. The item would help expand business and employment opportunities in that major business corridor.
- The Council will be ratifying a deal that will help bring 500 new jobs to Fresno through a GAP distribution center.
State Issues
- Legislators are returning from Spring recess, and policy hearings are underway. We are monitoring bills on class-action lawsuits, employer mandated benefits and water.
Federal Issues
- There has been no progress on immigration reform or DACA at the congressional level.
